I write about reason under siege: language, passion, and propaganda that besiege it.
I trained in mechanical and electrical engineering in the US and Canada, with a doctorate from McGill. My perspective combines critical and technical thinking, advanced automation, and applied cryptography.
I treat conflict as physics: a system that is legible, recurrent, and can be dismantled. The news becomes the verdict; the algorithm distributes guilt before the evidence.
The news becomes the verdict.
The algorithm distributes guilt.
Before the evidence.
Founder of Ikatu, Khimo, and Privnote. Privnote, a pioneering web service for self-destructing messages with no trace, embodies a conviction the book holds: privacy as a fundamental right, the condition of freedom of thought.
Under the alias jikatu I develop a photographic body of work, published under Creative Commons and used internationally.
Reason Under Siege grew out of years of op-eds and conversations.
Where the sequence breaks, the alibi is born.
